MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Minsk tourist attractions have been presented in the French city of Lyon, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
The presentation was arranged during the Consular Festival of Lyon in Place Bellecour on 22-24. It is a traditional showcase event where consulates present their countries. Taking part in the festival were over 50 countries. It drew about 30,000 visitors.
The Minsk presentation was prepared by the Belarusian Embassy in France jointly with the Minsk City Executive Committee, Belarus’ Honorary Consul in Lyon Jean Jacques Rinck, the association of Belarusians in Lyon Belart and the Belarusian diaspora. The Belarusian pavilion caught the eye of visitors and mass media. It was visited by Lyon Mayor Georges Kepenekian.
The pavilion displayed products of Belarusian companies like ABC, Arzhanitsa, Spartak, Brest Distillery Belalko, Bulbash, Gamma Vkusa, Minsk Kristall, Lidskoe Pivo, Minsk Grape Wines Factory, Onega, and Servolux.
The pavilion also presented tourist attractions and cultural legacy of Minsk. Master classes in national arts and crafts were held.
The participation in the Consular Festival of Lyon is expected to give a wide exposure to the country, which will help expand twin-town relations, promote products of Minsk-based companies and draw more tourists to Belarus.
