Minsk to host tourism industry representatives from four countries on 12-14 October

MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Minsk will organize a promotional tour for tourism industry representatives from Russia, Armenia, Georgia and Kuwait, Director of the Tourist Information Center Minsk Yelena Plis said during a session in the Minsk City Hall on 8 October, BelTA has learned.

Minsk will present its tourism potential at the 5th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev and the First China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The city’s tourism achievements have already been shown at the Shanghai World Travel Fair, the International Mayors Forum on Tourism in Zhengzhou, events dedicated to the Minsk City Days abroad and other events.

The Tourist Information Center Minsk signed cooperation agreements with tourism organizations of Belgrade, Omsk, Jurmala, Sakhalin, Arkhangelsk, with the Association of Ukrainian Guide and others during international exhibitions, fairs, seminars and presentations.

“This year we launched a new lineup of promotional materials in Russian, English, Chinese with a circulation over 30,000 copies, updated the assortment of souvenir products, added the section dedicated to industrial tourism to the website minsktourism.by. We also implemented the MICE in Minsk project that describes Minsk as a business tourism center. We can note growing interest in tourism in Minsk, lifestyle of Minsk residents, national cuisine, traditions and places of interest,” Yelena Plis added.

Some Br55,800 has been allocated for the development of tourism this year. New tourist information centers have been opened. Work to introduce the pedestrian navigation system is underway. Information boards were installed in such tourist zones as Nemiga, Trinity Suburb, the Upper Town, Zolotaya Gorka, Privokzalnaya Square, the Komarovka Market, Yakub Kolas Square, including in Chinese.
