Minsk to host Belarus-Oman business forum on 20 September

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian capital will host a Belarusian-Omani business forum and a business matchmaking session on 20 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI).

The events will be held at the National Library of Belarus. The business forum will be attended by Belarusian Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich, BCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Saeed Al Kiyumi, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Belarus (concurrent accreditation) Yousuf Issa Ali Al Zadjali.

A delegation of Omani businessmen is in Belarus on a visit that will run through 21 September. The business forum and the business matchmaking session will be held as part of the visit. The delegation is comprised of large investors and heads of 30 companies representing the key sectors of the economy of Oman, such as oil and gas industry, chemical industry, mining industry, machine-building, finances, insurance, transport, consulting, and retail. The delegation includes representatives of companies that implement projects in real estate, IT, construction and production of building materials, development of infrastructure, logistics, manufacture of furniture, tourism, production of hi-tech equipment and electrical appliances, and distribution of foodstuffs. The businessmen have plans to visit the mechanical engineering company Amkodor and the Belarusian automaker Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark).
