MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - A delegation from Belarus’ Minsk has arrived in China’s Shanghai on an official visit to take part in the China International Import Expo, BelTA learned from the Minsk City Hall's Telegram channel.
Today, the Belarusian capital is presenting its potential during the Day of Minsk. Earlier, the parties discussed the intensification of cooperation through twinning ties established between the cities, with the focus on trade and economic prospects.
According to Minsk First Vice Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich, cooperation in healthcare has become especially important and relevant in the post-pandemic period. “Both we and our Chinese colleagues have something to share with each other. We also discussed cultural cooperation. The Days of Shanghai were held in Minsk in 2019. We hope that such joint cultural events will become a good town-twinning tradition,” Nadezhda Lazarevich said.
Every year from 5 to 10 November Shanghai becomes the center of attention during China's most significant exhibition event, the China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is also one of the world’s largest exhibition events.
The expo is under the patronage of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Despite the period of coronavirus restrictions, about 2,800 companies from 127 countries and regions participated in the event last year. The number of visitors exceeded 460,000. This year more than 150 countries are taking part in the expo. The Belarusian pavilion is decorated in the shape of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus. It will host thematic days of the Belarusian regions.
