MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko met with Aurelien Lechevallier, Diplomatic Adviser to the Mayor of Paris, to discuss opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Minsk and Paris on 24 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.
Support for small and medium-sized business, waste treatment, water purification, and combating air pollution are promising areas of cooperation between the two cities, Aurelien Lechevallier said.
Pavel Latushko informed the Paris Mayor adviser about the forthcoming presentation of Belarus at the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the region Ile de France. He also briefed the official on the Embassy’s activities aimed at promoting Belarusian culture and increasing its exposure to the residents of Paris, including the first Belarusian Music Seasons arranged in cooperation with the French-Belarusian Association Life in Music.
The Belarusian diplomat thanked the representative of the Paris Mayor’s Office for the assistance in the preparation of a series of concerts of young musicians, students of the gymnasium-college of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, in the French capital in October 2016. He also said that the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book printing will be celebrated in 2017 under the UNESCO auspices. In this regard, the Belarusian Embassy is planning a number of activities in the French capital.
