TBILISI, 23 March (BelTA) - Minsk is ready to offer Georgia partners to develop MICE tourism, Director of the Minsk Information and Tourist Center Yelena Plis told the media, BelTA has learned.
On the sidelines of the Georgian-Belarusian forum the Minsk Information and Tourist Center signed an agreement with LLC Resistorgeo. “This agreement will contribute to the promotion of the tourist potential in Tbilisi. We have something to show, to be proud of. Therefore, we have very high hopes for our Georgian partners who will represent our capital in Georgia,” Yelena Plis said.
According to her, wellness and ecological tourism is very popular in Georgia. “We would like to promote cooperation in health tourism, in MICE as Minsk has very good facilities to host big events and a large number of visitors. We plan to focus on these areas,” Yelena Plis noted.
MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Events) emerged in the west and quickly became one of the most promising sectors of the economy. Today the MICE tourism centers are the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Austria and Spain. China has become the MICE leader in the east. This type of tourism is gaining momentum in Georgia too.
