MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast would like to implement a project to manufacture pharmaceutical products together with the Chinese city of Ningbo, Minsk Oblast Deputy Governor Nikolai Rogashchuk told reporters after meeting with a Ningbo delegation on 26 November, BelTA has learned.
“In 2016 Borisov Pharmaceutical Plant held talks with Ningbo Menovo Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd to discuss a project to produce medicines, however back then the Chinese company chose another country for investments. As far as we know, they have already completed that project, therefore we are trying to resume talks on our project, as this project would enable us to expand production of pharmaceuticals in Belarus,” Nikolai Rogashchuk said.
Apart from that, Belarus is ready to deliver its agricultural products via container trains that will return to China from Europe. In particular, China is interested in meat and dairy supplies, namely ice cream, beef and poultry meat.
In the future, the parties are to implement joint projects in tourism, trade, manufacturing, agriculture, medicine, culture and logistics.
Minsk Oblast and China’s Zhenjiang Province signed the agreement on forging friendly ties in May 2015. This cooperation resulted, among other things, in opening a traditional Chinese medicine center at the Minsk Oblast Teaching Hospital in Minsk District in January 2018.
