MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong, BelTA has learned from the Minsk City Council.
Vladimir Kukharev and Xie Xiaoyong discussed cooperation agreements that are currently in effect between Minsk and cities of the People’s Republic of China. The Belarusian capital city had signed 20 agreements, including four twinning agreements with Beijing, Changchun, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
The parties focused on joint trade and economic activities. In January-May 2021, the trade between Minsk and China amounted to $730.6 million vs. $613.8 million in the same period a year before. This year, the main exports to China include timber and lumber, meat and edible poultry by-products, condensed milk and cream, rapeseed oil, electronic integrated circuits and chip assemblies, tanned or dressed furskins, measuring or control devices, zoology collections and collectibles, electrical measuring tools and equipment, sound recording devices. The main exporters are Bellesexport ($9.1 million), Best Meat Company ($5.7 million), Meat and Dairy Company ($5.6 million), Mobiora ($5 million) and Integral ($3.1 million).
China’s main exports to Minsk include telephones, spare parts for equipment, computers, shoes, parts and accessories for vehicles, devices and tools used in medicine, etc.
