Minsk-Delhi direct air link under consideration

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarus and India are considering implementing a direct air line between Minsk and Delhi, representatives of the state enterprise Minsk National Airport told BelTA.

A business meeting with CEO of Primemedia Group of Companies Anish Gandhi and Minsk National Airport representatives took place the day before. One of India’s largest travel agencies and a company offering public relations services to air carriers and aircraft maintenance on the ground belong to Primemedia Group.

The meeting touched upon possible cooperation with the Indian side in launching direct flights between Minsk and Delhi. Representatives of the Belarusian company expressed interest and readiness to cooperate with the Indian side because in addition to offering more travel destinations cooperation with the Indian company will help considerably increase tourist traffic and will have a positive effect on Belarus’ business potential and image.

Anish Gandhi mentioned that Belarus-India cooperation in passenger transportation by air would become an important step in enhancing and promoting tourism opportunities of both countries. Apart from that, the representative of the Indian company expressed interest in opening a tourism office to represent Belarus on the Indian market.

The sides agreed to continue the dialogue during a European regional forum, which is due in Hannover, Germany in April.
