MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ trademark) has concluded a contract to deliver 157 dump trucks to Syria, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Syria.
The vehicles will be supplied for the needs of the Syrian Public Works and Housing Ministry.
The contract was signed during the visit of a Belarusian delegation to Syria. The delegation included representatives of the country’s major industrial enterprises and was led by Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk, co-chair of the joint Belarusian-Syrian commission for trade, economic and technical cooperation.
Vitaly Vovk had meetings with Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis, and the ministers of industry, local administration, environment, economy and foreign trade, agriculture and agrarian reform, public works and housing. The Belarusian delegation attended a meeting at the Damascus Chamber of Industry.
The program of the visit included a Belarusian-Syrian industrial forum with the participation of representatives of Belarusian enterprises and members of the Syrian business community.
“The industry ministers of the two countries signed a final protocol reflecting the Belarusian-Syrian agreements regarding the development of the economic cooperation in all relevant areas of bilateral relations,” the embassy’s representatives said.
