MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Minsk Commercial Aviation Factory No.407 and the Russian group of companies S7 are considering the possibility of setting up a joint enterprise to repair and service aircraft, BelTA learned from Alexei Vasilyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Committee of Belarus, on 21 February.
The S7 air carrier is the second largest air carrier in Russia after Aeroflot. According to the source, the S7 air carrier has expressed interest in working together with the Minsk-based commercial aircraft manufacturer in order to set up an enterprise that will offer aircraft maintenance services.
Speaking about the State Property Committee’s cooperation with international investors, Alexei Vasilyev reminded that a framework agreement on cooperation and mechanisms of interaction was signed by the State Property Committee of Belarus and the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of China in September 2016.
“We reached an agreement that Chinese companies will invest in Belarusian enterprises. Partners from China arrived in Minsk in December 2016. We discussed cooperation matters and sketched out plans for 2017. We also compiled a list of Belarusian companies, which shares Chinese investors are invited to buy, and a number of investment proposals that have been sent to China,” said the official.
