MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Belarus has completed harvesting millet, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 28 September, some 7,798,200 tonnes of grain was cropped in Belarus. This included 6,757,700 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, including corn.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 47,400 hectares of land already cleared. Some 366,700 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 77.3 centners per hectare.
Some 14,174,300 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
Buckwheat harvesting was completed in Brest Oblast, Gomel Oblast and Minsk Oblast. Some 47,500 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 14.6 centners per hectare) were threshed.
All the Belarusian regions completed harvesting millet, with 19,500 tonnes of threshed (yields stood at 19.2 centners per hectare).
The flax straw harvest exceeded 117,000 tonnes.
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested some 461,600 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 352.2 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 1,306,500 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields reaching up to 450.8 centners per hectare.
Winter grain crops were sown on 1,070,600 hectares of land (69.6% of the plan), more than last year.
