MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support the non-governmental Belarus-Germany Business Cooperation Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said ahead of the council’s meeting on 1 June, BelTA has learned.
“We place a great emphasis on the activity of the non-governmental Belarus-Germany Business Cooperation Council. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide all possible support to this organization,” Vladimir Makei said.
In his words, the council is of great significance as it means business activities. “Business speaks one language, acts fast. Business, if it sees benefits, will work even in the countries that have political disagreements,” the minister said.
According to Vladimir Makei, Belarus is interested in developing cooperation with the German business with a view to exchanging the experience in improving economic legislation and privatization procedures at the example of Eastern Germany. “We are interested in German firms and companies to come to Belarus’ sectors which are most developed in Germany. I think that closer business cooperation, mutual interests and projects will help us settle some of today’s political disagreements between the East and the West,” he said.
