MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – We invite Turkish investors to Belarus, President Alexander Lukashenko said during the talks with Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 11 November, BelTA has learned.
“We invite Turkish investors to Belarus. The Mogilev Free Economic Zone already has six residents from your country, and all conditions are in place for setting up a special industrial zone,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian head of state said that Belarus and Turkey are interested in further development of mutually beneficial and balanced investment, credit and financial relations. Belarus has already seen a number of successful Turkish investors in such areas as construction, telecommunications, light industry, and production of building materials. “However, we can say with confidence that there is still considerable untapped potential in this field,” the Belarusian leader noted.
Alexander Lukashenko invited his Turkish counterpart to consider the prospects for boosting the Belarusian-Turkish cooperation in banking services. “I am ready to support the establishment of a bank with Turkish capital in Belarus or help a Turkish bank to acquire a share in a Belarusian bank,” the head of state said.
