BRASLAV DISTRICT, 4 August (BelTA) – It is needed to ramp up meat and dairy production in Vitebsk Oblast, President Alexander Lukashenko said during the visit to the Braslav affiliated branch of Glubokoye Dairy Canning Factory on 4 August, BelTA has learned.

During the visit to the enterprise the President was briefed on the fulfillment of his instructions to restore, modernize, and improve the enterprise. The head of state was made familiar with the operation of the affiliated branch and the technological process of making hard cheese. He also saw the exposition of products of Glubokoye Dairy Canning Factory.

Braslav Dairy Factory was launched in 1987. It was turned into the affiliated branch of Glubokoye Dairy Canning Factory in 2003. It is focused on milk processing and cheese making.

The President was informed that in 2011-2013 the enterprise implemented an investment modernization project aimed at raising the capacity of milk processing facilities. After the renovation the affiliated branch launched hard cheese production lines with the capacity of 10 tonnes per day and skimmed-milk soft cheese production lines with the capacity of 2 tonnes per day. This technology is unique because the process of production is fully automated. The entire production chain is under control.

The modernization project helped increase the production capacity of the affiliated branch and expand the range of cheeses from 12 to 38. At present the annual production capacity makes up 3,000 tonnes of hard cheeses, 250 tonnes of cream and quark products, and 9,000 tonnes of milk whey.
