Lukashenko speaks about foreign investment Belarus needs

BARANOVICHI, 22 March (BelTA) – At today’s meeting with the authorities of the city of Baranovichi and Baranovichi District Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko spoke about foreign investment that Belarus needs at the present stage, BelTA has learned.

“Those times when we accepted any foreign investment have passed. It is one thing when an investor comes to work under the same conditions as Atlant, BelAZ, or MAZ. They invest money, pay taxes, salaries. It is a different story when an investor comes, demands preferences and does not pay anything except salaries,” the head of state said.

“We need investment that will benefit our people and our state in the form of value added for profits, taxes, and further development of the company. Do not hunt for every coin. An investor may bring his production here and then take away everything he produces, without paying taxes. Investment differs,” Alexander Lukashenko added.
