MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – There will never be an excessive amount of electricity if Belarus builds a second nuclear power plant, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received a report from Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik on 2 July, BelTA has learned.

“We are considering the construction of a second nuclear power plant. Having electric energy will never hurt. There will never be a surplus of it in the country,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

He noted that not only industry and households need electricity. It is also used by all-electric houses and electric cars. “We have laid a good groundwork for this, we have created good production infrastructure, especially when it comes to buses and trolleybuses. Electricity is needed everywhere. Therefore, we need to anticipate demand,” the head of state emphasized.
