Lukashenko: Intellectual technologies should become the engine of progress in Belarus

POLOTSK, 8 November (BelTA) – It is intellectual technologies that should become the engine of progress in Belarus. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he delivered a speech during the Vitebsk Oblast harvest festival Dazhynki 2024 in Polotsk on 8 November, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked: “The lack of natural advantages and the resulting hardships – cold climate, complicated soils, the shortage of extractable hydrocarbons – should be compensated for with our strengths: intellect, brains. And it applies not only to Vitebsk Oblast.”

The president stressed that Belarus’ intellectual potential is colossal. The republic is a state with a very high level of human development. “We don’t have stupid people,” he added.

“It is intellectual technologies that should become the engine of progress. High-tech projects with the highest degree of automation, robotization, and other modern forms of work represent the face of today’s agribusiness,” the head of state said. “This level of manufacturing organization should be attractive for young people. The countryside should keep up with the times. We need to bring young people back to the villages and get them involved in accomplishing innovative tasks. We need to enable conditions for it and we need to give them opportunities to show their worth.”
