MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – The global economy is in recovery, which creates a beneficial situation for Belarus. The government should revise the export efforts of every branch of the Belarusian economy, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss Belarus’ foreign policy priorities on 11 July, BelTA has learned.
“The situation is very beneficial for our country. If we fail to seize the chance, we will be again lagging behind. We will continue setting GDP growth targets of 0.5% and performing under the target. We should use this unique situation when the economy is resuming growth. We have not neglected or shut down a single enterprise, and they have a chance today,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
“You have seen that those who make effort manage to sell their products. Use all means to ensure marketable appearance and high quality of products!” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Alexander Lukashenko also pointed out that today Belarus has diplomatic missions in almost every third country. Concurrent accreditation allows for monitoring the situation in almost all parts of the world. “We should promptly adjust our tools to changes in the international situation and to new cooperation opportunities. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should become a more compact agency able to solve complex tasks employing the least number of specialists. Results should be the main performance indicator in your work,” the head of state said.
