Lukashenko approves Belarus’ sci-tech priorities for 2016-2020

MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – On 22 April Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed decree No. 166 “Concerning priorities of scientific and technical activities of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The presidential decree specified priorities of scientific and technical activities of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020. The results of corresponding projects will be used at enterprises of the real production sector and social organizations. It will help raise the competitiveness of science-intensive sectors of the national economy, support and develop scientific schools.

The decree will ensure the concentration of resources in the manufacture of brand-new materials and substances with required properties, devices and equipment, technologies of the 5th and 6th technological paradigms, establishment of hi-tech production facilities focused on import substitution and export, development of treatment and diagnostics methods in medicine, production of new medications, bio- and nanotechnologies, rational use of natural resources.
