Kobyakov: Belarus will benefit from participating in Expo Milano

MILAN, 9 September (BelTA) – by participating in Expo 2015 in Milan Belarus will reap good economic benefits, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov told reporters during the Belarus National Day at Expo 2015, BelTA has learned.

"We will voice the figures when we sum up the participation in the expo. Every week up to 50,000 people attend Belarus Pavilion. Someone just gets to know the country; someone discovers new facets of Belarus. People see our industrial, tourist and cultural potential, they see that our country is in the heart of Europe, is very attractive, including for business. It is worth a lot,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

A pavilion at the expo is a good platform for image-building, said the Belarusian head of government. According to him, Belarus is known in the world as a reliable supplier of high-quality agricultural goods. The Prime Minister underlined that Belarus pays special attention to the issues of ecology of nature use and land cultivation.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that Belarus Pavilion is creative enough. "Our Pavilion attracts the attention of everyone who visits this expo. It is impossible to pass it by, I think. You can see that the country is represented well and we have something to show to the world," he said.

"Once I had a chance to visit Hannover Expo where Belarus was also represented. With each new expo, the country’s presentation gets better; the progress is visible. I liked the expo. Everything was done well: both in terms of visual demonstration and in terms of content. The wheel of life in Belarusian Pavilion which showcases the perpetual motion of time is very cool. I think every visitor pays attention to it. Those who did the preparation of our Pavilion hit the trend,” added the Prime Minister.

The Belarusian government delegation is in Italy on a visit on 9-10 September. On the first day of the visit, Andrei Kobyakov attended the Belarus National Day at Expo 2015. The Prime Minister is expected to participate in the panel discussion "Belarus: European partner-Eurasian market." Tomorrow, the Belarusian delegation will visit several companies and hold a number of meetings in Piedmont, the second largest region in Italy.

EXPO, also known as the Universal Exposition, is the biggest international platform to demonstrate technical and technological solutions. It was held in 1851 for the first time. Every country showcases its culture, traditions and achievements in technology, innovations, and tourism.

Expo 2015 in Milan opened on 1 May and will be running till 31 October, featuring 145 countries. Large companies and non-governmental organizations also have their booths. In Milan Belarus is represented through major national riches of the Belarusian land: bread, salt and water. These are the three components that give a person the energy for life and thought. The embodiment of human thought is a watermill wheel which is the dominant of the whole exhibition.
