MOSCOW, 2 June (BelTA) – The construction of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) was discussed in a meeting between Belarus’ Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk and Director General of the Russian state nuclear industry corporation Rosatom Sergei Kiriyenko. The meeting took place as part of the 7th international forum Atomexpo 2015 in Moscow. Sergei Kiriyenko plans to visit the construction site of the nuclear power plant in Belarus, Mikhail Mikhadyuk told BelTA.
While in Moscow, the Deputy Energy Minister of Belarus held a number of meetings with Russian counterparts. “The meetings highlighted issues related to the development of a nuclear waste management strategy, running stress tests and also issues regarding the improvement of the nuclear infrastructure in Belarus,” Mikhail Mikhadyuk said.
The Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk is taking part in the 7th international forum Atomexpo 2015 in Moscow. It will last through 3 June and will include visits to the energy facilities of the Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, including the construction site of Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant II.
