Japan interested in Belarusian earthquake prediction software

MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – Japan is interested in the project of Belarusian programmers designed to predict earthquakes, the press service of the Hi-Tech Park of Belarus told BelTA.

A Japanese delegation led by Masako Mori, a member of the upper chamber of the Japanese parliament, visited the Hi-Tech Park. During the visit OOO BelHard Development (a resident company in the Park) presented its earthquake forecasting product. The project met a strong interest on the part of members of the delegation.

Masako Mori also thanked the Belarusian software development company Game Stream for giving Japanese kids, who live in the area affected by the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident, an opportunity for rest and recreation in Belarus.

A delegation of the Japanese parliament led by Genichiro Sata, head of the Belarus-Japan friendship group in the Japanese parliament, visited the Hi-Tech Park this week, too. The purpose of the visit was to study the experience of creating and developing the Hi-Tech Park, get familiar with the process of training information technology specialists, and to exchange the best practices of providing comprehensive support for new innovative companies in implementing innovative projects. Hi-Tech Park Administration Director Valery Tsepkalo also told the guests the history of the Park, accomplishments and capabilities of the Park’s residents. He also answered a number of questions. The Japanese delegation also visited the Hi-Tech Park’s business incubator.
