Irish companies eager to implement mechanical engineering projects together with Belarus

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Irish companies are sketching out projects involving Belarus in the area of construction materials, renewable energy, and mechanical engineering, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the UK with concurrent accreditation to Ireland Sergei Aleinik visited Ireland.

The Ambassador of Belarus met with top executives of the Irish industrial and investment companies CRH plc, Pure Energy, Eaton Industries (Ireland) Limited to discuss concrete projects for trade and investment cooperation in the area of construction materials, renewable energy, and mechanical engineering.

Sergei Aleinik met with Director General of the Europe Division of Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Eoin O’Leary and Director for EU Strategic Planning of the Department of the Taoiseach (Office of the Prime Minister) Elizabeth McCullough. The sides discussed the current state of affairs in Belarus-EU relations as well as promising avenues for expanding Belarusian-Irish bilateral cooperation.

The Ambassador of Belarus also met with Chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Irish parliament Pat Breen to discuss matters of interparliamentary cooperation. Sergei Aleinik also met with top officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ireland and the export support agency Enterprise Ireland to discuss prospects of invigorating the bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
