Interregional ties seen as pillar of Belarus-China cooperation

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) - Interregional ties are the pillar of Belarusian-Chinese practical cooperation in all areas, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said during a visit to Shaanxi Province, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

At the talks with Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee Zhao Yide, Nikolai Snopkov noted that Shaanxi Province is a reliable friend of both Mogilev Oblast (twin regions) and Belarus as a whole.

"The parties pointed to the huge potential for joint development and investment and agreed to increase mutual trade, develop rail transportation on the route Belarus-China-Belarus, to advance complementary industrial cooperation, attract Chinese enterprises to new investment projects in order to set up a full-fledged Shaanxi Province subpark in the Great Stone Industrial Park," the press service informed.

Nikolai Snopkov also held talks with major manufacturers of automotive components in China. Taking into account the current market needs and vacated market niches, Belarus’ competencies and highly qualified personnel, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing the current joint ventures, increasing their production capacity and setting up new manufacturing facilities.

During the state visit of the Belarusian president to China on 1 March of this year, the leaders of the two countries outlined the priority importance of developing interregional ties, the need to deepen trade and economic cooperation with major cities and provinces of China and fill it with practical content. It was decided to extend the Year of the Regions of the two countries for 2023.
