MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – An international seminar of the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) will take place in Minsk on 15-19 June, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The seminar will focus on sharing the experience of launching power-generating units of new nuclear power plants. The seminar will gather nuclear industry specialists from the Commonwealth of Independent States and non-CIS states. About 40 experts from Russia, Ukraine, Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Turkey, South Korea, and Finland will share their views on topical matters concerning emergency and post-emergency monitoring systems, ways to improve the safety of nuclear power plants, information systems designed to share the best practices of nuclear power plant operation, training and qualification of personnel before launching a nuclear power plant.
A tour of the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be arranged as part of the event. The seminar has been organized by WANO’s Moscow center.
The World Association of Nuclear Operators unites all the enterprises in charge of operating nuclear power plants across the globe. The Association encourages the sharing of the best practices so that members of the Association could work together for the sake of reaching the highest safety and reliability standards during the operation of their nuclear power plants.
The enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant has been made part of the Moscow center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators this year. Now the World Association of Nuclear Operators comprises 22 organizations in 13 countries across the globe.
