International expo in Uzbekistan features 23 Belarusian companies

MINSK, 8 April (BelTA) – The international industrial trade fair “Innoprom. Big Industrial Week in Uzbekistan” featured 23 Belarusian enterprises that showcased products of mechanical engineering, metallurgy, chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, as well as medical equipment, new R&D solutions and consumer goods, BelTA learned from the exhibition organizing company BelInterExpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Taking part in the opening ceremony of the Made in Belarus national exposition were Deputy Prime Minister for Investments and Foreign Economic Relations - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, Industry Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik, Minister Counselor of the Belarusian Embassy in Uzbekistan Aleksandr Solovyov, as well as First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Azis Voitov.

Representatives of Belarusian companies visited KRANTAS GROUP, MAZ-Tashkent, Magistral Diesel Service, as well as an authorized MAZ service center. “By the way, MAZ-Tashkent, a subsidiary of Minsk Automobile Plant in Uzbekistan, signed an agreement of intent worth $10 million for the supply of chassis and vehicle kits to assemble vehicles meant for the Uzbek market. An agreement was signed with a private Uzbek company for the supply of 50 units of MAZ equipment worth a total of $3 million. There are 14 dealers and 11 authorized MAZ service centers in Uzbekistan,” the exhibition company informed.

The Industrial Week in Uzbekistan is the largest event in the country after the break caused by the pandemic. The number of participants was big enough to fill all four pavilions of Uzexpocentre in Tashkent. The expo was the continuation of the Innoprom fair traditionally held in Russia’s Yekaterinburg. Uzbekistan hosted this event for the first time.

Taking part in the expo were more than 200 companies specializing in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, energy, pharmaceuticals, chemical industry and medicine from Armenia, Belarus, Germany, Italy, China, Republic of Korea, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Czech Republic, Japan, EAEU countries and Central Asia. The exhibition was visited by over 10,000 people - representatives of government agencies and businesses of Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The national exposition Made in Belarus was organized by the exhibition organizing company BelInterExpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
