MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – India invites Belarus to actively participate in the Make in India program, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena said at a press conference to mark the Republic Day of India on 24 January, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat said that the program is designed to attract foreign technologies and companies to India. “India invites Belarus to set up enterprises. Belarus is attractive for us as it has cutting-edge technologies and well-developed agricultural production sector, manufactures heavy-duty vehicles, and can become a partner in this India’s program,” Pankaj Saxena believes.
He pointed out that the matters were discussed during the high-level and top-level visits and talks.
Pankaj Saxena stressed that high-level visits contribute significantly to the development of the bilateral relations.
The diplomat pointed out that the Indian side is interested in investing in the Belarusian economy and setting up enterprises in Belarus. For instance, in 2016 India took part in the establishment of three joint ventures in Belarus to make pharmaceuticals, including anticancer medications and drugs against AIDS.
Pankaj Saxena believes that the Belarusian-Indian cooperation in this industry and other fields will be growing stronger.
