Importance of involving Belarus, other UNECE countries in China’s Silk Road project highlighted
MINSK, 26 October (BelTA) – It is important to involve Belarus and other countries of the UNECE region in building the Silk Road Economic Belt, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei stressed as he spoke at the international conference “Laying the foundation in the UNECE region for economic integration and sustainable development towards 2030” in Minsk on 26 October, BelTA has learned.
The diplomat emphasized that Belarus can offer large-scale projects to build transport, telecommunications and energy infrastructure facilities, help involve the countries of the UNECE region in the Silk Road Economic Belt project, and set up technology transfer centers. In general, it has many ideas on how to strengthen the mutually beneficial cooperation among the countries and unions of the region.
Vladimir Makei expressed confidence that the list of promising cooperation areas will be expanded and filled with details as a result of the conference.
