MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – Hydraulic tests of the primary circuit and the secondary one of the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant have been finished, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
In line with the pre-launch tuning program the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has successfully finished hydraulic testing and circulation flushing of pipes and equipment of the primary circuit and the secondary one of the reactor unit. This process was completed while the reactor was fully loaded with dummy fuel rod arrays. The hydraulic tests confirmed the durability of the primary and secondary circuits of the second unit, including the quality of manufacturing and installation of the equipment and the pipes.
Hot trials will be the next step in the startup and commissioning process. The hot trials will have to confirm the ability of the reactor’s primary equipment and secondary equipment to operate within designed parameters.
