Harvest campaign in Belarus almost complete

MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – 9% of the areas planted to cereal and leguminous crops is left to harvest in Belarus, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 17 August, Belarus harvested 1.851 million hectares planted to cereal and leguminous crops, which is 91% of the sown area. The country harvested more than 4.9 million tonnes of grain already, with the average yield of 26.6 centners per hectare. As of 17 August 2017, Belarusian agrarians cropped more than 6 million tonnes of grain.

Brest Oblast harvested 98% of the area, Minsk Oblast – 95.7%. Grodno Oblast harvested 95.5% of its areas, Gomel Oblast - 90.3%. Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast cropped about 84.1% and 79.6% of the areas respectively.
