Grodno to host Euroregion Neman 2017 trading show 21-23 September

GRODNO, 18 September (BelTA) – Over 160 participants are expected to gather for the Euroregion Neman 2017 trading show in Grodno, BelTA learned from the economy committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

The 19th edition of the nationwide universal exhibition Euroregion Neman 2017 will take place in Grodno on 21-23 September. More than 160 producers will showcase their products and services. Their stands will occupy the area of more than 1,000 square meters at the central sport center Neman and the ice palace of sports. The event will also include a fair of tourist services. The fair will display the tourist potential of Grodno Oblast, the possibilities of visiting the Augustow Canal visa free.

“Over 300 foreign guests are expected to attend the exhibition. Among them will be delegations from several Russian regions, China, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Azerbaijan and Romania,” the economy committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee noted. The program will feature business meetings, the signing of contracts, the second joint meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Republic of Komi. The matters for discussion will include cooperation in agriculture, sport and tourism, the establishment of twin relations between Grodno and Ukhta.

An international investment forum entitled Grodnenshchina at the crossroads of the borders will be held as part of the expo.

The exhibition has been regularly held for the past 15 years and has proved its relevance. It has become one of the biggest projects with the participation of the Belarusian side of the cross-border union Euroregion Neman that initially comprised Belarus’ Grodno Oblast, Poland’s Suwalki, Lithuania’s Alytus and Marijampole, and later other regions of Poland, Lithuania and Russia. The project is aimed at intensification of cooperation between Grodno Oblast and the border territories of Lithuania, Poland, and the Russian Federation. The major goal of the exhibition is to expand trade and economic ties between neighboring states and seek variants for the most successful and mutually beneficial cooperation.
