GRODNO, 1 June (BelTA) – A Grodno Oblast delegation headed by Governor Vladimir Karanik is visiting Tomsk Oblast of the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.
During the visit, the delegation is set to sign a number of cooperation agreements in manufacturing and science, to visit National Research Tomsk State University, Tomsk Regional Cancer Center, Siberian State Medical University, the Tomsk special economic zone and other industrial and social infrastructure facilities.
Grodno Oblast and Tomsk Oblast have been interacting within the framework of the cooperation agreement on trade, economy, science, technology and culture for more than a decade. Academic partnerships were established between Grodno State Medical University and Siberian State Medical University, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University and National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University.
An additional impetus to interaction was given by the 9th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia held in Grodno in 2022. An action plan was signed on the sidelines of the forum to draft a cooperation agreement on trade, economy, science, technology and culture between the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee and Tomsk Oblast for 2023-2025.
