MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – Belarusian farmers have gathered in over 7.4 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
As of 17 August as much as 7.484 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested. The figure includes 6.417 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops (93.6% of the area under these crops, with yields at 33 centners per hectare) and 1.067 million tonnes of rapeseed (91.5% of the area under these crops, with yields at 29.2 centners per hectare).
Minsk Oblast contributed 1.9975 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) to the country’s total grain basket. It was followed by Grodno Oblast – 1.7252 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.556 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 852,100 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 728,600 tonnes, and Vitebsk Oblast – 625,000 tonnes.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 43,800 hectares, which is 98% of the area under this crop.
