MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – This year Belarus can export about 1 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Rusy on 6 September.
According to the source, taking into account carryover assets Belarus can have about one million tonnes of grain and cereals to spare for export. “The demand for flour is good. We believe we will export over 200,000 tonnes of flour. Our groats sell well, too. We also started exporting pasta products some time ago,” noted the deputy prime minister.
Mikhail Rusy remarked that in H1 2017 Belarus increased the export of agricultural products by 16.6% in monetary terms. “For instance, this year we intend to sell 400,000 tonnes of colza more than last year. The same applies to every direction,” he said.
The official stressed that the government pays close attention to the export of agricultural products. “We work hard searching for new target markets and penetrating them. We have no idle stock in storage,” he concluded.
