GOMEL, 13 May (BelTA) – Gomel will host a Belarus-Poland business forum on 14 May, BelTA learned from the department of foreign economic relations at the Economy Committee of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.
Partaking in the forum will be representatives of over 20 Polish companies and of a number of Belarusian enterprises, local government bodies, the Gomel Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Gomel-Raton Free Economic Zone. The Polish delegation will be headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Konrad Pawlik.
The program of the forum features a business matchmaking session during which Belarusian and Polish businessmen will hold bilateral talks on processing of agricultural raw materials, production of building materials, and woodworking. The Polish delegation will visit some Gomel Oblast enterprises on 13 and 14 May to study their production technologies and samples of products. They have plans to visit Gomelsteklo, Milkavita, Gomel Distillery Radamir, Rechitsadrev, and the enterprises of the Gomel-Raton Free Economic Zone.
The delegation will also hold negotiations with representatives of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and visit the Palace of the Rumyantsevs and the Paskeviches in Gomel.
In January-March 2015, Gomel Oblast’s trade with Poland made up $61.5 million. The export of the Belarusian region amounted to $55.4 million, import to $6.1 million.
