MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Director of Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Yanchevsky and Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Belarus Jeffrey Giauque met in the Hi-Tech Park to discuss the Belarus-United States cooperation in the IT sector, BelTA learned from the Hi-Tech Park press service.
“Jeffrey Giauque stressed that the United States supports active development of the park and expansion of the U.S. companies' presence in the HTP. It was noted that favorable business climate and stable legal regime are crucial for the U.S. business in Belarus and are important factors for future investment and expansion of cooperation,” the press service said.
The parties noted that business contacts gained through the Hi-Tech Park also contribute to the development of bilateral cooperation in other sectors of the economy.
The United States is the largest market and investor for the Hi-Tech Park. In January-September 2020, the export of the HTP companies to the United States reached $816 million. In 2019, this figure exceeded $945 million, which accounted for 43% of all HTP exports. Today there are more than 70 U.S.-funded companies in the Hi-Tech Park.
