MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Bautzen District of Germany and Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ trademark) are set to intensify contacts in industrial tourism. On 15 April MTZ welcomed a German delegation led by Head of the Bautzen District Administration Michael Harig, BelTA learned from the administration of the Partizansky District of Minsk.
The German delegation was taken on an excursion to the production facilities, the museum and the park of the factory. The parties discussed fulfillment of the cooperation agreement in tourism (industrial and medical tourism).
“We know and respect Belarusian machinery. In the times of the German Democratic Republic, we relied on BELARUS tractors. Even now many Germans are curious about who produces them and where. We would like to renew contacts and invite tourists from Germany. I would also want to bring German business people,” Michael Harig told reporters.
Minsk Tractor Works opened its doors for industrial tourists in 2017. Since that time about 9,000 tourists visited the factory. The German specialists have plans to bring here Europeans who are interested, among other things, in the history of the manufacturing industry.
Bautzen and Partizansky District of Minsk signed an agreement to promote cooperation in economy, culture and social matters two years ago. During the ongoing visit, the German delegation is set to tour the Minsk city Technopark, Minsk research center of surgery, hematology and transplantology, Minsk Sparkling Wines Factory, and LINLINE Medical Systems.
