MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich met with Member of the Board (Minister) for Energy and Infrastructure of the Eurasian Economic Commission Temirbek Asanbekov on 3 March, the Energy Ministry press service told BelTA.
Deputy Energy Minister Denis Moroz and Director of the Energy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Vadim Zakrevsky took part in the negotiations as well.
Participants of the meeting discussed key matters concerning the formation and operation of the common market of natural gas in the Eurasian Economic Union, including progress in preparing a draft international agreement on setting up the common market.
Viktor Karankevich mentioned the constructive nature of the negotiation process. He said: “We’ve advanced seriously into some matters but there are things that require more consideration in order to achieve mutually acceptable solutions.”
After the meeting Viktor Karankevich and Temirbek Asanbekov visited the control center of the united energy system where the energy minister outlined the main directions of development of Belarus’ energy complex. Attention was paid to the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
