MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – In January-March 2018 foreign investors injected $3.6 billion into the real sector of the Belarusian economy (except for banks), representatives of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
The main investors were Russian companies (40.4% of the total investments received). They were followed by investors from the UK (22.5%) and Cyprus (10%).
Foreign direct investments totaled $3 billion or 84% of the total foreign investments received.
In January-March 2018 Belarusian companies (except for banks) invested $1.5 billion abroad. Considerable investments were poured into Russian companies (78% of the total outgoing investment), Ukraine (9%), and the UK (5.2%). Foreign direct investment accounted for 94.2% of the total outgoing investment.
