Foreign investments in Belarus economy at $4.3bn in H1 2022

MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – Foreign investors poured $4.3 billion into the real sector of the Belarusian economy in H1 2022, the National Statistics Committee told BelTA.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the main investors in Belarusian companies were commercial entities of the Russian Federation (45.3% of the total incoming investments), Cyprus (20%), Netherlands (6.4%), and Ukraine (5.2%). Foreign direct investments amounted to $3.8 billion or 88.1% of the total foreign investments.

In January-June 2022 Belarusian organizations invested $2.7 billion abroad. Considerable volumes were sent to commercial entities of the Russian Federation (85.2% of the total outgoing investments), Ukraine (3.3%), and Lithuania (2.3%). Direct investments accounted for 94.7% of the total outgoing investments.
