MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – Foreign investors pumped $10 billion into the real sector of Belarusian economy (apart from banks) in 2019, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
Among the main investors in Belarus were economic entities of Russia (45.1% of the total), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (18%) and Cyprus (7.6%).
FDI made up $7.2 billion, or 72.3% of the total foreign investments.
In 2019, Belarusian organizations (apart from banks) invested a total of $5.8 billion abroad. Belarus mainly invested in the economic entities of Russia (61.9% of the total), Ukraine (15.5%), the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (9.8%). FDI accounted for 91% of all the investments that went abroad.
