MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – In January-March 2016 foreign investors injected $232.9 million in the real economic sector of Minsk Oblast (except for banks), BelTA learnt from the main statistics department of Minsk Oblast.
The major investors of Minsk Oblast organizations are economic entities of Russia (30.9% of the total investment inflow), Cyprus (23%), and Lithuania (7.4%).
Foreign direct investment totaled $209.5 million, or 89.9% of all investment coming from abroad. Russian residents accounted for 32.1% of FDI, Cyprus 24.9% and Lithuania 8%.
In January-March 2016 Minsk Oblast organizations (except for banks) sent abroad $97.3 million worth of investments. The bulk of the investments went to economic entities of Russia (88.1% of the total amount), Singapore (9.4%), and Kazakhstan (1.6%). “Direct investment accounted for 99.95% of the total sent abroad,” said representatives of the Minsk Oblast main statistics department.
