Foreign investment in Belarusian economy at $6.7bn in January-September 2017MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) - In January-September 2017 foreign investors injected $6.7 billion into Belarus' economy (except for banks), BelTA learned from the website of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.

The primary investors were economic operators of Russia (40.6% of the total investment), the United Kingdom (26.6%), and Cyprus (7.1%).

Foreign direct investment made up $5.5 billion, or 83% of the total.

In January-September 2017 Belarusian economic operators (except for banks) transferred $4 billion in investments abroad. Considerable sums were channeled into economic operators in Russia (66.8% of the total outgoing investments), Ukraine (17.9%), and the UK (6.8%).

Direct investments accounted for 93.8% of the total outgoing investments.
