MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Finnish companies are eager to buy timber products via Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
The possibility of such cooperation was discussed during the Belarus-Finland Economic Forum held in Gomel on 13 and 14 September. Finnish businessmen were informed about BUCE’s key activities, the advantages of trading on the exchange, and also about the tools and mechanisms used by the exchange to facilitate foreign trade operations.
“The Finnish businessmen showed particular interest in the work of BUCE’s sections of timber products, consumer and industrial goods. For instance, they showed eagerness to buy Belarusian timber products via BUCE's electronic trading platforms and sell products of companies specializing in construction of wooden houses,” the press service specified. The Finnish companies hope to thereby expand their markets by entering the near-border regions of Russia and Ukraine.
“The implementation of these plans will increase the number of companies engaged in trading in timber products, consumer and industrial goods through Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and expand the geography of exchange trading. This will foster an atmosphere of open and free competition in exchange trading that will encourage sellers and buyers to strike mutually satisfactory deals,” the press service added.
