MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – In H1 2020 resident companies of the FEZ Grodnoinvest exported $540,000 worth of products to Canada, up 6.5 times, BelTA learned from the administration of the free economic zone.
“In January-June resident companies exported an estimated $425 million worth of products to 46 countries worldwide. The CIS countries accounted for 80% ($342 million) of the export. Russia remains the key market for the FEZ. It accounts for 66% of the export ($280 million). The top three importers of Belarusian products also included Poland ($52 million) and Ukraine ($47 million),” the administration said.
The export of the FEZ resident companies to the European Union amounted to $78 million, or 18% of the total in H1. The main sales markets were Poland, Lithuania ($9 million), Romania ($5 million), Germany and Latvia ($3 million each). The supplies of Belarusian products to the United States grew significantly - 2.4 times, up to $425,000. In H1 2020, the FEZ companies debuted on the markets of Switzerland, Mongolia and Iceland.
The bulk of exports is food and agricultural products (33% of the total), wood products and furniture (29%), mechanical engineering and metalworking products (16%), chemical products (9%) and textile products (9%).
