MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – The Transport and Communications Ministry suggests allowing for a rolling stock for a fast tram on the road to Minsk National Airport that will cross the Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park Great Stone, Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Anatoly Sivak said at a press conference at BelTA on 23 October, BelTA has learned.
The new road will start at the end of Vaupshasova Street.
“So far it is not even a feasibility study. We are discussing an overall concept of the road. The Transport and Communications Ministry, for example, suggests building a rolling stock for a fast tram along the center of the road or along the separating strip, so that it will be not just an automobile road,” Anatoly Sivak noted.
The minister emphasized that this facility is not in the Roads of Belarus program yet. “We are considering a possibility to include it into the Roads of Belarus program and discussing the contractor,” he said. The minister noted that it is too early to talk about the timeframe of the project.
