MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Export of metal products via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) made up Br36 million in January-August 2020, up 17% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
The export mainly included ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal and also metal products of the Belarusian steel mill BMZ. The trading featured 24 buyers from nine countries: Germany, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, the United States, Ukraine and Switzerland.
Since the start of 2020 Latvian companies have bought Belarusian metal products worth Br17 million. Lithuania ranked second with Br11 million worth of transactions. Third was Canada that bought Br1 million worth of Belarusian metal.
Steel reinforcing bars as part of the joint project of the BUCE and the BMZ have been supplied solely to the market of Poland. In January-August the volume of sales totaled Br4 million.
