MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – The export growth of manufactured goods in 2022 is estimated at about 15%, Deputy Industry Minister Dmitry Kharitonchik said at the working meeting with Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi, BelTA learned from the press service of the Industry Ministry.

Taking part in the meeting were also heads of large industrial enterprises.

The deputy industry minister told the diplomat about the export of industrial goods last year. The export growth is  expected at 15%. The export to the Russian market was the highest on record: the export expanded in absolute terms by over 66%, and the share of the Russian Federation in Belarus’ total exports is expected to reach 75% against 55% in the previous year.

Dmitry Kharitonchik also noted that the export targets were formalized by the appropriate government decree. The document reads that the export growth in 2023 should make 5% year-on-year. “All enterprises and factories should put their best effort to fulfill this task,” the deputy industry minister added.

The ambassador praised the efforts to promote exports and urged companies to keep working on it. “The meetings of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko with Russian governors, government visits, the annual Forum of Regions, which has become a significant event - all these measures help boost trade between the two countries,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

He called the development of a commodity distribution network an important tool for promoting foreign trade. “Last year, about 40% of all exports went through the Belarusian commodity distribution networks, the bulk of which is run by the Industry Ministry,” the diplomat noted.

He added that the embassy is ready to provide assistance to Belarusian industrial enterprises in promoting their products on the Russian market.
