EPAM, Wargaming donate 700,000 respirators to Belarus’ Healthcare Ministry

EPAM, Wargaming donate 700,000 respirators to Belarus’ Healthcare Ministry

MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – The EPAM company and the Minsk development center of the Wargaming company (SOOO Game Stream) have donated the Belmedtekhnika company of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry 700,000 FFP2 respirators from the world’s leading manufacturer 3M, BelTA has learned.

The World Health Organization has recommended this type of personal protective equipment (PPE) to healthcare workers who are treating coronavirus patients. The respirators were shipped to the country with the support of the office of the 3M company in Belarus. “We have joined efforts to help protect those who are working to the top of their abilities taking care of our health and future. The respirators will be given to those who are currently on the frontline of the COVID-19 fight. We would like to thank and support them,” the joint statement of EPAM and SOOO Game Stream reads.

The respirators will be delivered to hospitals that are treating COVID-19 patients. “This is a difficult time for all countries. Supplying PPE in such a short time (in ten days from the purchase) is a true feat. PPE reserves are depleting quickly now. I would like to thank people who are not indifferent and show their active stance,” Deputy Healtchare Minister Boris Androsyuk told journalists.

According to him, FFP2 respirators will greatly improve safety of doctors, nurses, paramedics, and attendants. “We will prevail over this illness by helping each other,” Boris Androsyuk said.
